The first console solely developed by Microsoft was released in 2001 and is the first in the Xbox family and part of the sixth generation of games consoles. The creation of the Xbox began in 1998 with 4 Microsoft engineers decided to take apart some dell laptops and construct a Microsoft Windows based video game console to compete with PS2 after some time they pitched their Direct Xbox as it used Direct X graphics technology. the console was then officially announced on March 10 2000 and was then discontinued in 2005 to be replaced by its successor the Xbox 360. it used two type of controllers the original controller and the Xbox S controller which was smaller than the original. The console would be released with Halo: Combat Evolved and many where impressed by the consoles specifications. Then in 2002 the online service Xbox live which like the Xbox family has grown bigger and better over the years.
Xbox Launch team and Partner editions
Only several hundred were made and it was a duke green colour and in the middle had a message that was signed by Bill Gates saying 'Great work' for the launch team version and for the partner edition it said 'Thanks for partnering with Xbox' how many were exactly made is unknown and were only sold to either qualified employees or people who worked for the companies that produced some of the Xbox's hardware like Nvidia. There are only 14 intact Partner editions as for the launch team it is unknown but today there are very valuable.
Xbox Atari edition
Only one of these exists and was won in a contest in Leipzig game convention in Germany 2004 and is one of a kind its estimated retail value is unknown due to its rarity
Xbox Skeleton Black
50,000 of these were planned and only 10,000 were sold in Japan when it was released in 2001 the console game with a key chain with Bill Gates signature and the consoles serial number engraved on it.
Xbox Panzer Dragoon Orta
Only 999 units were made and was released in Japan in 2002 and only those who pre ordered it through Sega direct got the console.
Xbox Translucent green
20,000 of these were manufactured and only 5000 were sold in Europe in 2003 to celebrate Xbox's one year anniversary since its release in Europe.
Xbox Halo Green and Orange
Only released in the US to mark the release the Halo the green version had 200,000 made but the Orange version is Ultra rare and one was discovered in 2014 and is the only to have been Discovered so nobody knows how many of the Orange versions were released but they are highly valuable.
Xbox Crystal limited Edition
Released in Europe in 2004 to celebrate the consoles 2 year anniversary since it was released in Europe but was eventually sold in game bundles else where. An Unknown amount were made.
Xbox Kasumi Chan Blue
Released in 2004 only 5000 were made and sold in Japan and was released with Dead or Alive Ultimate and game with some other gifts as well.
Xbox Mountain dew
5000 of these were made and were only available through mountain dew sweepstakes. you needed 550 dew points to be able to order the console and within a day all the consoles were reserved.
Xbox Hulk
35 were made to celebrate the release of the new hulk movie in 2003 and were won by buying popcorn and Pepsi meals in participating cinemas.
Xbox Tony Hawks underground 2
This was issued in 2004 in conjunction with activision and online skater magazine. only 10 were made and were won at competitions promoting the game were people competed playing against each other on the new tony hawk game.
Xbox Hello Kitty Crystal
only 550 were made and released to celebrate the Hello Kitty game but could only be purchased if you bought a $5000 Samsung TV at a specific Singapore retailer for $99
Xbox Dead or Alive
Only 20 were made and sold but they were only sold in Germany.
Xbox Pure White
1000 were made and only sold in Japan and also included the option to have 20 letters engraved on the console.
Xbox 50 Cent bulletproof
Probably on of the rarest Xbox consoles ever and one of the best look too, only one was given away in a promotion in Australia and was signed by 50 cent as well
Xbox World racing
Only 6 were ever made and were given away in a contest in Germany
